Describing your hobbies and your weekly routine
Think about your hobbies and what you usually do Monday to Sunday. Write them down and use the structures you've learned so far: for example the simple present and the verb "to like". There is no right or wrong answer! You can take a look at and listen to the sample solution if you need to.

I like dancing. On Sunday, I go horseback riding in the afternoon.

Asking for an English translation of a word
If you don't know the English translation of a word in your mother tongue, you can use the following phrases to ask for the information:
- What's the English word for ______?
- How do you say ______ in English?
- What's ______ in English?
- Do you know the English translation for _____?
Imagine you're in an English speaking country with a friend who speaks both English and your native language. You need to ask someone something, but you can't remember the English translation. Practise the following phrases with words from your mother tongue. Speak the sentences out loud.
1. You are at a restaurant and want to order something to eat. You can't remember the English word for it. You ask your friend: "Do you know the English word for ________?"
2. You are at a post office and would like to send your family a letter. You can't remember the English word for what you need to buy. You ask your friend: "What's ________ again in English?"
3. You and your friend got lost and you have to ask someone for the way. Unfortunately you can't remember the English word for the place that you are going to. You ask your friend: "How do you say ________ in English?"

Wenn du die englische Übersetzung eines Wortes aus deiner Muttersprache nicht kennst, kannst du die folgenden Phrasen benutzen, um nach der Information zu fragen:
- What's the English word for ______?
- How do you say ______ in English?
- What's ______ in English?
- Do you know the English translation for _____?
Stell dir vor, du bist mit einem Freund oder einer Freundin, der/die sowohl Englisch als auch deine Muttersprache spricht, in einem englischsprachigen Land. Du musst etwas fragen, kannst dich aber nicht an die englische Übersetzung erinnern. Übe die folgenden Phrasen mit Wörtern aus deiner Muttersprache. Sprich dir die Sätze laut vor.
1. Du bist in einem Restaurant und möchtest etwas zu Essen bestellen. Du kannst dich jedoch nicht an das englische Wort dafür erinnern. Deshalb fragst du deine/n Freund/in: "Do you know the English word for ________?"
2. Du bist auf der Post und möchtest deiner Familie einen Brief schicken. Du kannst dich jedoch nicht an das englische Wort für das, was du kaufen möchtest, erinnern. Also fragst du deine/n Freund/in: "What's ________ again in English?"
3. Du und dein/e Freund/in habt euch verlaufen und müsst jemandem nach dem Weg fragen. Leider kannst du dich nicht an das englische Wort für den Ort oder den Platz erinnern, zu dem ihr gehen wollt. Du fragst deine/n Freund/in deshalb: "How do you say ________ in English?"
